Heatwaves: Control Building Energy Consumption with AREE

Heatwaves - Stay in control with AREE

High Temperatures: Stay in Control!

🌡️ How can you distinguish a normal increase in energy consumption from a genuine energy performance issue?

During a heatwave, air-conditioning systems are heavily used. An increase in energy consumption is therefore expected… but it may also reveal underperforming equipment, poor scheduling, or abnormal operation.

With AREE, energy consumption can be analyzed while taking weather conditions into account, particularly through degree days.

Alerts can then highlight deviations that require the teams’ attention:

✅ energy consumption monitoring
🌡️ analysis based on outdoor conditions
⚠️ detection of excessive consumption and anomalies
📈 alert history
🎯 better-targeted technical interventions

The energy manager can use the EMS to identify and prioritize the actions that need to be taken. The BMS can then be used to act directly on the building, for example by adjusting schedules, temperature setpoints, or the operation of certain equipment.

The impact of these actions on energy consumption and indoor temperatures can then be monitored through the EMS dashboards and adjusted if necessary.

During a heatwave, the EMS provides visibility, detects energy performance issues, and helps prioritize interventions, while the BMS enables direct action on the building’s equipment. Together, they make it possible to cool the areas that need it, at the right time, without wasting energy elsewhere.

AREE detects deviations, alerts teams, and speeds up decision-making to preserve occupant comfort while keeping energy consumption under control.
