MeteoSwiss Integration in AREE for Better Energy Management

MeteoSwiss joins AREE’s weather data providers!

AREE is expanding its connectivity options with the addition of a new connector to MeteoSwiss.

This new integration enables users in Switzerland to access relevant local weather data directly within their energy management platform.

As a reminder, AREE already supports data integration from:

🌦️ Météo-France
🌍 OpenWeather
And now MeteoSwiss

But why is weather data so important in an EMS?

✅ Put energy consumption into context
An increase in consumption may be directly linked to lower outdoor temperatures or a period of extreme heat.

✅ Compare performance across different periods
Weather data and degree days make it possible to compare energy consumption while accounting for climate variations.

✅ Build more reliable energy baselines
Outdoor temperature can be integrated into baseline models to identify deviations and achieved savings more accurately.

✅ Improve energy consumption forecasts
Weather forecasts help anticipate heating and cooling needs, as well as future peak demand.

✅ Optimize equipment operation
By combining weather data, energy consumption, and equipment operating data, an EMS can help optimize the way energy systems are controlled.

With the addition of MeteoSwiss, AREE continues to pursue its goal: providing facility operators and energy managers with increasingly relevant data to better understand, analyze, and improve the energy performance of their buildings and installations.
